Day 1: Addis Ababa – Harar
Fly from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa on Ethiopian Airlines. Continue by vehicle from Dire Dawa to Harar. Stroll through the 16th-century walled city of Harar, the fourth most important city in the Islamic world. Visit the home of Arthur Rimbaud, the French poet who lived and worked in Harar as a “gun-runner” in the 19th century.
Overnight: Hotel in Harar.
Day 2: Harar
Visit the colorful Islamic market, tour the National and Harari museums, and see the house of Ras Mekonnen (father of Emperor Haile Selassie). In the evening, witness the famous “Hyena Man” feeding wild hyenas that gather nightly outside the city walls.

Day 3: Harar – Addis Ababa
Drive from Harar to Dire Dawa with an optional stop at Ethiopia’s largest “chat” market in Aweday. From Dire Dawa, fly back to Addis Ababa. Transfer to the airport for your late-night international departure if needed.

Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport
Meet and greet your Papyrus Tours representative at the exit of luggage claim and transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 2: Flight to Dire Dawa and Drive to Harar
After breakfast, take a short flight to Dire Dawa. Enjoy lunch in Dire Dawa before driving to Harar (50 km). Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, experience the famous “Hyena Man” feeding wild hyenas just outside the city walls.

Day 3: Visit the Walled Town of Harar
After breakfast, explore the walled city of Jegol, visit the house of Arthur Rimbaud (a French poet who lived in the 1880s), Emperor Haile Selassie’s birthplace, and the Harari Cultural Museum. In the evening, relax and enjoy traditional Harari hospitality.

Day 4: Drive to Dire Dawa and Flight to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, drive back to Dire Dawa (50 km) for your flight to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy souvenir shopping and a farewell dinner before being transferred to Bole International Airport for your return flight home.
